WHY WE CONTROL MICE

There are many reasons why mice need to be controlled.

Recently one of my customers called me for what transpired to be a mouse problem. Items in the loft were being shredded and the rice sized droppings were the main clue.

In the three counties region of Devon, Dorset and Somerset, where I have my business, field mice are rampant. I have had single jobs where I have extracted dozens.

My customer said something that many also have: "I don't mind mice so much, but rats..." Shudder! Rats are ten times the size and bulk of mice and much less tolerated.

Mice, however, come with a warning:

  • They spread diseases such as Salmonella and Listeria to humans through their urine, droppings and bedding. Anyone with an infestation is at risk of food poisoning.

  • Their compulsive gnawing to counteract their constant incisor growth can cause serious damage to electric cables, water and gas pipes, packaging and woodwork. Many electrical fires and floods are attributed to mice.

  • Evidence of infestation in businesses can seriously damage a reputation.

  • They can enter buildings through a gap as small as 6mm, making the points of ingress particularly difficult to locate.

Three Counties Pest Control provide mouse extermination and control for homes and businesses and endeavour to respond quickly to calls for help.

We can advise and arrange proofing to help prevent future invasion.
